This 30 unit residential project with outdoor and indoor community spaces creates permanently affordable housing linked with supportive services for low income families and individuals, specifically persons with physical disabilities and victims of domestic violence. Many of these two groups are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The development is one of the first multifamily projects in California to be GreenPoint Rated. Key green features include jobsite waste recycling, passive solar design, natural ventilation, a photovoltaic system, low-toxicity finish materials, and excellent access for people with disabilities. Building orientation takes advantage of solar access and prevailing winds, and improves circulation patterns for residents.
