Description:
A new elementary school consisting of 20 classrooms for Early Childhood Education and K-5, library, extended care, multi-use room, community center, school yards, amphitheater, soccer field, and play area. The project illustrates the process involved in the early programming stages of an educational project. The architectural program, developed in conjunction with facility user questionnaires, interviews and workshops, was intended to quantify each of the key components of the new elementary school by type and square footage. The program was also designed to describe the individual qualities of each space in detail as well as define those adjacency relationships that are critical to the function of a new school.
