Lorin Station

Description:
This project was designed to revitalize an urban area of residential and commercial activity. Constructed on the site of a burned-out laundry, the new building provides 14 units of affordable housing over 4,577 sq. ft. of commercial tenant space meant to attract "destination-oriented retail business." Secured parking and a community room adjacent to an outdoor area and tot lot are provided for the residents. Special design features include roll-down doors over storefront windows for security and ceramic tile on the facade to discourage graffiti. The building reflects architectural characteristics of the area, echoing the design features of neighboring buildings.
