Windmill Falls

This project represents a unique example of an affordable residential project on a difficult site. 144 units along with a community building were placed on a moderately sloping site, the surface of which was in many places composed of solid rock strata. The site lies on the shore of a lake and the plan maximizes the number of units with water views. Small water features occupy the larger common open space to enhance the feeling of water frontages. Units are clustered around landscaped parking areas which, along with roadways, are visually separated from common open space. Although the underlying rock strata added to earthwork costs, the excavated material was used as a landscape feature. The units are of both townhouse and flat type configurations and all contain individual enclosed garages, with some having family rooms and high ceilings in living rooms.
