Description:

Phases 1 and 2 of a H.U.D. HOPE VI mixed-use development to replace an aging public housing complex with new housing, community spaces, and a Head Start child care center.  The new development is designed to provide affordable housing to those with household incomes at or below 40% to 50% of the area median income.  Each phase provides 65 units in 2 four-story buildings of flats over townhouses above parking and 1 three-story building of townhouses over 5,400 sq. ft. of childcare and social service spaces.  The triangular cluster of buildings creates a secure outdoor courtyard with greenscaping, congregation areas, and a tot lot.  68 parking spaces are provided in ground floor auto courts.
